Occupational Therapy has been Zara’s dream career for as long as she can remember. Having graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Masters of Occupational Therapy, and the University of Windsor with Honors in Psychology (focusing on neuroscience), Zara is now committed to patient centered and evidence-based care that is holistic and filled with compassion. She is focused on building strong relationships with her clients; making sure each person knows they are going to receive the best possible care. For her, nothing is more fulfilling than to aide in someone’s recovery journey and witness them develop the skills needed to live their lives more autonomously.
Zara has worked with a variety of ages and populations and has developed a strong skill set in traumatic brain injuries, mental health, chronic pain and concussion. Through her work and volunteering in many remote communities around the world, she has developed a creative, industrious, and culturally sensitive approach to her practice.
At Surrey Neuroplasticity Clinic, Zara works with new technologies for people who have concussion or brain injury – combining them with her occupational therapy knowledge to facilitate return to meaningful activities for her clients.
When she is not practicing Occupational Therapy, Zara can be found adventuring through the mountains, playing music, trying out a new cookie recipe, meditating, crafting and volunteering
